Take advantage of the incredible extras.
A trip with Island Adventures includes so much more than just a whale watching tour. Onboard, you'll learn about wildlife from a professional marine naturalist, enjoy free binocular use, earn a punch on our Frequent Floater card, and be able to pick up a 64-page color wildlife viewing guide for just a $1 donation that helps local whale-friendly charities!

Onboard Naturalists
Our onboard naturalists are second to none. Through their years of experience they've come to know the Salish Sea like the backs of their hands. Sit back and have fun learning about our local wildlife or feel free to ask as many questions as you like - our crew is here for you!
Each naturalist is also a photographer, capturing all the magical moments as we go with professional camera equipment. On our way home you'll enjoy a slideshow presentation with the photo highlights of the day and learn even more about the wildlife you've encountered. Your tour photos are also available for purchase. Learn more about our photography program here.
Wildlife Viewing Guide
Education has always been an integral part of our whale and wildlife watching tours since Island Adventures began in 1996. Our 64-page color wildlife viewing guide is available for only a $1 donation with all proceeds going toward local salmon enhancement and whale research organizations. It was designed and produced in-house by our talented staff and includes detailed facts and photos of all the wonderful things you can expect to see on your tour. Almost all of the photographs in the guide have been taken by our crew while onboard our boats. In addition, you’ll find a species check-off list to mark what was sighted throughout your trip and a map of the area on which you can trace your route for the day. Our new wildlife viewing guide is a great way to commemorate your day trip in the Salish Sea with Island Adventures and all proceeds go toward helping the whales!
Free Binocular Use
Onboard all of our tours, you're more than welcome to use one of our pairs of binoculars at no charge! We'll simply ask for a piece of collateral (car keys, driver's license, etc.). Binoculars are great while searching for whales and wildlife, but it's often not necessary to use them while on scene with whales. Our naturalists will let you know when the best time is to use your binoculars and when to set them down and take in all the sights.
If you have your own pair of binoculars, however, please feel free to bring them along!
Frequent Floater Card
If you live here in Washington or just like to go whale watching on a regular basis with us, you might like to know that we offer a special perk for our many repeat customers. Simply request a Frequent Floater card at time of check in and we’ll mark off the number of people in your group. Bring it along every time you ride and when you’ve reached twelve trips, you’ll receive a FREE whale watch! The frequent floater card does not expire and can be used from year to year. Remember to ask one our friendly staff for one at time of check-in!
