2012 Photo Competition

We are excited to offer an opportunity for our guests to show off there amazing photos taken from the Island Explorer 3 (contest not limited to Island Adventure guests). There will be winners announced on Facebook and Flickr throughout the summer; and the grand prize winner will be announced September 16th. The grand prize is 2 seats on an ultimate day trip aboard halcyon with captain Shane. Check out more details below, we will see you on the boat with your camera!

Island Adventures is proud to be sponsoring a photo contest this year. During the below dates, the office staff at Island Adventures will pick their favorite photo from among those submitted. Each winner will receive 2 tickets for another whale trip, good anytime.

Dates:

• March 3rd – May 18th
• May 19th – July 1st
• July 2nd – August 15th
• August 16th – September 15th

Submit your photos to our Flickr group!

On September 16th, a Grand Prize winner will be announced. The Grand Prize is two seats on an ultimate day trip aboard Halcyon with captain Shane.

The Grand Prize winner will be selected by members of the Island Adventures Boat Crew. All entries submitted on our Flickr group are eligible for the Grand Prize.

The Rules:

1. As all entries must be submitted via our Flickr group, entrants must have a personal Flickr account. Flickr is a free photo-sharing website, owned by Yahoo. A Flickr page is Free (for up to 200 photos). Go to Flickr for more information and to sign-up for your own Flickr account.
2. Photos from this year only please. Whale Watching season starts on March 3rd, 2012, and we would like all the photos on our Flickr group to be from this year’s whale watching season.
3. As this is an Island Adventures Photo Contest; Only photos from the Pacific Northwest will be accepted. Though photos from other parts of the world would be fun to see, this group and contest are specific to the Pacific Northwest region, including the Gulf Islands, BC, Canada.
4. Photos can be of local scenery, marine & other wildlife, whales (of course), photos of our boat — “The Island Explorer 3”, and photos of groups having fun on our tours.
5. Island Adventures Cruises reserves specific rights to photos posted on this site. We will not sell or give to others, any of the photos, but do reserve the right to use them in advertising, press releases, our Whale Report, Island Adventure’s Facebook, printed or online materials and/or any other types of promotional venues. Where photos are used, full photo credit will be given, and if time allows, we will ask for permission first.
6. Please name all photos and add the words “Island Adventures” (with the quotation marks) as one of your tag words. Add into the ’description field’ of each photo, along with any other description of the photo, the location of the photo, the date, and whether it was taken on one of our tours or from another location.
